Elysian Compliance & Risk Management is committed to lawful, transparent, and responsible information management in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Individuals, organisations, or public bodies may request access to records held by Elysian by submitting a formal PAIA request.
Personal Request
A request for access to records containing the requester’s own personal information.
Other Request
A request for access to records relating to another person, organisation, or third party. Proof of authority, such as a power of attorney or written mandate, must accompany requests made on behalf of another person.
Public Body Requests
Public bodies requesting access to records must demonstrate that the request is made in the public interest and specify the interest being protected.
Requesters may submit their request using one of the following methods:
To process a request, the requester must provide sufficient information and documents required. Incomplete requests may delay processing.
PAIA provides for both a standard request fee and an access fee, which may include costs for search, preparation, reproduction, and delivery of records. Where a request for access is approved, Elysian may withhold the processing or release of the requested records until all applicable fees have been paid in full.
Elysian will notify requesters of the outcome of a valid PAIA request within 30 business days of receiving the request and any applicable fee payment. Where access is granted, access fees must be paid before records are released.
The response period may be extended by up to an additional 30 business days where large volumes of information or consultations are required, and requesters will be notified of any extension.
